We asked our dedicated team of travel experts to tell us their own personal favourite Ireland experiences. First up is Linda, who loves the outdoors, great food and fun activities! Here are Linda’s Top 5 Ireland Experiences!
Imagine sitting in a whiskey barrel heated bath, filled with seaweed and looking over the Atlantic Ocean. This really is the ultimate in relaxation and getting back to nature.
Seaweed baths were a popular wellness activity in Ireland for over a century. In a nation frequently experiencing rain, many believed that the effectiveness of seaweed baths in treating arthritis and rheumatism is due to the higher levels of iodine in seawater.
There many permanent buildings with seaweed baths around the Irish coastline, but you are not going to get more fun than in a whiskey barrel outdoors!
Wild Atlantic Sea Baths are the only mobile seaweed baths in Ireland and travel to some of the most beautiful ocean views along the Wild Atlantic Way. Currently they are in the wonderful fishing village of Doolin, one of the gateways to the Aran Islands, but their website keeps you up to date on locations!

Escape from it all with an oceanside sauna created by brother and sister Niamh and Seán. An innovative sauna experience that integrates traditional sauna practices with holistic relaxation and well-being principles. The term “suaimhneas” is derived from the Irish language, meaning “peace” or “tranquillity,” reflecting the serene and calming experience it aims to provide.
Like the seaweed baths however, it is all about physical health, mental well-being and emotional balance – the stunning view over the coastline of County Clare is a bonus! A perfect end to a day dipping in the ocean!

Mount Brandon is the highest peak on the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland, standing at 952 metres (3,123 feet). The mountain holds a deep sacred significance. The pilgrimage route honouring Saint Brendan, who is believed to have embarked on his legendary voyage to America from this region. Archaeological sites, including ancient rock carvings and ruins, can be found along the trails.
The most popular route starts from the village of Cloghane and is called Saint’s Road (Cosán na Naomh). The trail follows an ancient pilgrimage path marked by white crosses, reflecting its historical and spiritual importance.
Showing off the best scenic beauty, the Brandon Peak Route starts on the west of the mountain and has relatively easy climb compared to the more daring Faha Ridge.
Faha Ridge is a much more challenging and dramatic route for the experienced hiker, but it offers breath-taking views but requiring a higher level of fitness and experience.
Whatever path you choose, the ascent provides hikers with stunning views of the Dingle Peninsula, the Atlantic Ocean, and on clear days, the Blasket Islands! The inner landscape is made up of luscious green valleys offset with glacial corries and a plethora of flora and fauna.
